Petition To Retain The Name Of Nanyang Junior College

Nanyang Junior College (NYJC) is a college that holds fond memories
for students and graduates who stepped through the doors of NYJC. It
has been 27 years since NYJC was established and many ex-NYJC students
have gone on to make their mark in society, a testimony to the quality
and care that college provides for every student who stepped through
her doors. This is a reputation that the college has painstakingly
built since 1978.
During the last few years, the college has gone through extensive
redevelopment and old buildings have been torn down replaced by new
buildings with new facilities for the current students, but the
affinity shared by ex-nyjcians remains because of the name Nanyang JC.

The Senior Management Committee (SMC) of the college is currently
considering changing the name of Nanyang Junior College to Chung Cheng
Junior College to reflect the affiliation between Nanyang and the
Chung Cheng schools. However, if the college is renamed to Chung Cheng
Junior College, the proud history and tradition of Nanyang Junior
College would be erased forever, replaced by an alien Chung Cheng
Junior College. I appeal to all NYJCians out there, past and present,
to stand up and be counted in this war. Our appeal might not make a
difference to the result, but at least we made our voices heard. If
the name of Nanyang Junior College is to end, I want the ending to be
so powerful that it is worthy of remembrance.

Therefore, I sincerely plead to all you NYJCians, past and present to
stand up and be counted for NYJC, for everything in NYJC that holds
dear to you. We will fight this war to the very end and we know we
have done our part as NYJCians. I appeal to all of you to sign the
petition and forward this to all NYJCians, past and present.

For Graduated Students
Please Email to: Nyjcpetition@yahoo.com.sg with your name, contact no,

For Current Students
Please Email to: Nyjccurrent@yahoo.com with your name, contact no,

Let the Nanyang spirit come alive and may this unite all NYJCians to
fight this war together.

Yours Sincerely
Desmond
